From Peter Martin in the Office of Emergency Management:
Based on a report received from the National Weather Service this morning (3/21/19), the recent shift in the wind will bring the benzene plume over the Eastern part of Pearland and Friendswood. But the benzene levels detected by the air monitors indicates the level remains below the level of public health hazard. The Pearland Emergency Management team will continue to monitor this situation and update the public via all available channels as the situation changes.
For specific questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Emergency Management Coordinator Peter Martin via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
