If you are heading to a beach during Spring Break week, it’s a good idea to check fecal bacteria levels before jumping into the water.
TexasBeachWatch.com, a division of the Texas General Land Office, tracks enterococcus bacteria (also known as fecal bacteria) levels along the gulf coast, including -popular swimming and fishing spots- via an interactive map.
Fecal bacteria levels are tested weekly and is funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
