The man arrested and charged with the attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old Alvin girl posted a chilling warning to parents on his own Facebook page:
“WATCH YOUR KIDS! DON’T LET THEM JOG AT 9PM”
MPN spoke to Brazoria County Precinct 4 Constable James Brawner this morning for recommendations on how to keep children safe from predators.
“We live in a dangerous world nowadays and we must protect our children and teens from the many dangers they face and do what we can to keep them safe from those who seek to do them harm, says Brawner. I recommended parents look towards technology designed to monitor and protect children. Install a GPS tracking mobile app on your phone and your kids’ phones so you can monitor their location. Small GPS monitors are available that could be placed in their clothing or backpacks in the event the abductor immediately took their smartphone device.”
“Keeping our children and teens safe is a serious issue and working together we can prevent human trafficking or sex abuse. The goal is to avoid a heart-breaking consequence where our children end up in serious danger.”
Deputies said Salazar may have had other victims in the area.
The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information on this case to call 979-864-2392 or Brazoria County Crime Stoppers at 800-460-2222.
