President Donald J. Trump issued an executive order closing all executive departments and agencies of the federal government on Wednesday, Dec. 5 to honor former President George H.W. Bush.
The University of Houston President Renu Khator announced on Twitter that the campus will be closed in memory of Bush. All scheduled exams will be held, but the campus will be closed for all other activities.
“Like many of you, I hold a special place in my heart for President Bush’s service to our nation, his thoughtful tone of discourse and the pride he felt for our city,” Khator said in a statement. “He was a friend of the University of Houston, and each time I had the privilege of seeing him he was inspiring and encouraging.”
