The Pearland Fire Marshal’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of arson suspect(s) relating to the Sept. 24 burning of a grey colored Honda Civic.
The vehicle was found actively burning in the parking lot of the Salem Village Apartments, located at 3510 Broadway Street in Pearland, Texas. The vehicle owner reported that he parked the car at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 and was inside his apartment at the time that the fire started. A neighbor discovered the fire and notified the owner, who extinguished the fire using a portable fire extinguisher. Evidence found at the scene confirms that this fire was intentionally set. The quick action of the vehicle owner prevented this fire from spreading to other vehicles parked nearby or the apartment building itself. The fire was set at a time in which the apartment building was occupied by several families and could have resulted in tragic consequences if the fire had not been discovered early and extinguished by the owner.
The Pearland Fire Marshal’s Office is currently seeking help to identify the person or persons responsible for this fire. A reward of $1,000 is being offered by the City of Pearland for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who set the fire.
Anyone with information regarding this fire is encouraged to contact the Pearland Fire Marshal at 281.997.4650. Information provided that results in an arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this vehicle fire will be eligible for the reward.
